About AriClot™ Hemostatic Patch

The AriClot Hemostatic Patch is one of Healda's most advanced achievements in biopolymer engineering, designed for rapid control of penetrating and extensive bleeding in demanding surgery. The dressing is produced from high-purity oxidised regenerated cellulose which, on contact with blood, forms a cohesive gelatinous structure. This structural transformation accelerates the coagulation cascade and creates a physical barrier at the injury site, completing hemostasis even where conventional methods such as cautery or ligature fall short.

Clinically, AriClot's maximal biocompatibility and freedom from allergic or severe inflammatory responses place it in the high-risk device class (Class III). The porous, flexible fabric lets the surgeon lay it easily over the irregular surfaces of internal organs or large vessels. Beyond its hemostatic strength, the inherent bacteriostatic property of oxidised cellulose prevents biofilm formation and microbial growth at the surgical site, providing a safe path for natural tissue repair.

How long does the AriClot patch take to be absorbed?
The patch is usually fully absorbed and cleared within 7 to 14 days, depending on the patient's physiology.
Does the product have antibacterial properties?
The components of the Aricot patch partially inhibit bacterial growth and, unlike some common dressings, do not provide a medium for microbes to grow.
Do the patches cause adhesion after surgery?
No, this product is designed for both external and internal (in-body) use and does not cause tissue adhesion. In some cases, it may even help reduce adhesion.
