About Super-Absorbent Antibacterial Dressing
Healda's super-absorbent antibacterial dressing is an advanced solution for chronic wound management, built on cellulosic biopolymers and synthetic fibres with exceptional absorbency. Using nano-silver technology, it forms a strong defensive barrier against a broad spectrum of pathogens, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The dressing rapidly draws exudate into its central core and locks it there, preventing maceration of the peri-wound skin while releasing silver ions to control the microbial load.
Its multi-layer structure includes a non-adherent wound-contact layer that prevents trauma at dressing changes. The middle layer contains super-absorbent polymers (SAP) offering an absorption capacity many times the dressing's own weight. By maintaining optimal moisture at the wound bed, the dressing speeds up epithelialisation, and its high physical stability keeps it intact even under pressure — for example beneath compression bandages or compression stockings. Healda's dressing is a strategic choice for wound clinics managing infected, heavily exuding wounds.

How long can the dressing stay on the wound?
Depending on the level of exudate, the dressing can stay in place for 3 to 7 days. It should be changed once fully saturated.
Can it be used on diabetic foot ulcers?
Yes. The dressing is ideal for managing diabetic foot ulcers with moderate to heavy exudate and for preventing infection in these patients.
Is changing the dressing painful, or does it stick to the wound?
No. By maintaining a controlled moist environment and thanks to its non-adherent structure, it does not damage granulation tissue on removal.
